This large phantom selenite crystal specimen embodies the light. Golden orange and black phantoms weave through water clear selenite which manifests with rare formations.

Some of the most exquisite crystals are unveiled in Chihuahua, Mexico, and naica selenite is the most radiant selenite I’ve ever met.

This wild stone sings of the sacred dance of duality. Of the order found in chaos.

Phantoms tell the tale of the evolution of the piece. In this brilliant crystal being, layers of generational phantoms weave around a network of water filled chambers.

An abundance of enhydro bubbles can be seen suspended throughout these intricate negative phantom formations.

Water enhydro’s are elusive.

It’s been my experience that they step forward with intention and they will step back with the same. Always in choice. With purpose.

The bubbles that I have thus far have been stationary. And, it is possible for your experience, what reveals itself to you, to look and feel different than mine.

The light brings this selenite to life, illuminating its lusterous nature, calling the distinct strations and intricate etchings forward.

An exquisite, well defined band of zigzag markings meanders down one side of the piece. I found myself captivated.

Spent so much time sitting with this wild stone.

If this were quartz from the Diamatina Plateau in Brazil I would know undoubtedly that this was a lightning strike quartz crystal.

These markings in this manifestation, on this piece, gave me pause.

It is possible for lightning stuck crystals to step forward anywhere in the world, though most often we find them in the Serra do Espinhaço Mountains of Brazil.

In this place the land, the geography, the weather alchemize, creating conditions which support these beautiful crystal anomolies.

It’s unlikely that lightning strike lemurians were struck directly by lightning. It’s believed that lightning strikes the host rock and the current travels through the quartz crystals inside.

These wild markings are left in the current’s wake.

“Lightning struck” selenite based on this information could, in theory, be possible. If this IS that, it would be the first time I’ve ever seen or heard of this occuring.

Selenite’s high water content and the heat generated by lightning are not a good match. When water is exposed to such high heat, it creates steam and steam creates pressure.

Selenite is soft, a 2 on the MOH scale. It’s structurally unable to contain that pressure and the crystal shatters. There have been rare examples of selenite fulgurites, and this isn’t that either.

And, as I experience it, these markings feel undeniable.

So what does this mean? All of the “could be’s” do not feel probable. And I also cannot say that they’re impossible.

Could the strike have occurred far enough away that the temperature was reduced enough for the current to move through creating this mark?

Is it possible that the inclusions somehow altered the interaction between the selenite and the heat generated from the lightning?

Unidentifiable, unconfirmed, unlikely don’t always mean untrue, and, I am not labeling this selenite crystal specimen to be lightning struck.

I may muse about my experience of a piece, and, I strive to be very intentional about when I’m sharing a feeling or opinion and when I’m providing information.

I appreciate opportunities for me to lean into the great mystery of it all. To sit with what comes forward, what feels like truth.

In my opinion, whether this wild stone is lightning struck doesn’t necessarily change our capacity to work with the energetic resonance of lightning struck crystals.

Ancient symbols, sigils, are made potent through repetition and collective belief. I believe that this is no less true for sacred markings on stone.

Ancient etchings also manifest as record keepers on this remarkable crystal, triangular marks which repeat over and over. This wild stone becomes the author of its own story.

It wears its tale of evolution on its skin.

Earthy black and gold inclusions transition from outside to inside. Everything about this wild stone stands in the “both.” Shadow and light. Both within and without.

These inclusions create natural landscapes as the water clear selenite grants us an extraordinary view of this underwater flora and fauna.

Small selenite manifestation crystals are strung throughout the inclusions.

They capture the light and radiate it back out. Crystalline stars shining against an autumn skyline.

Stones from this locale are considered the highest vibrational expression of this crystalline manifestation of gypsum selenite.

Water has memory, and this piece hums with the energetic resonance of ancient glaciers and their lessons of transformation.
