Rare Star Labradorite Spectrolite Crystal Sphere w/ Sunstone | Rainbow Flash + Tourmaline

This rare rainbow labradorite sphere manifess with golden sunstone which create a four point star asterism formation, its shimmer, stark against the backdrop of electric spectrolite flash and black tourmaline.

Both expressions of feldspar, it is not impossible for labradorite and sunstone to coexist, though it is wildly uncommon to find this particular alchemy in tangible form.

Star labradorite is also an exquisite anomaly of nature. In this rare, wild stone, the two are indelibly entwined.

Though still uncommon, we do see full spectrum flash more often in white labradorite. White labradorite and rainbow moonstone are two sides of the same extraordinary coin.

When true spectrolite does step forward, this unlikely stone is most often found in Finland. This true, rare spectrolite crystal sphere was unearthed from the sacred lands of Madagascar.

Some of my favorite labradorite comes from Madagascar, and, every so often, a piece of Madagascar spectrolite is unearthed. Meets the light for the first time.

Comes into the world singing in these brilliant full spectrum hues.

Labradorite is saturated in lore, and there is an archetypal energy to the alchemy of this wild stone. It’s said that the aurora borealis came into being the day that labradorite was first unearthed.

That this mystical stone was unable to contain its own multitude of light.

It is the light which calls the labradesence forward. The light which revealed the extraordinary sunstone inclusions. The light which bursts the four pointed sunstone star wide open.

There is an entire universe which exists below the ground beneath our feet.

No matter how rare or seemingly finite a stone may seem, I will never feel comfortable saying that another expression of a piece doesn’t or couldn’t exist.

Ren Gill reminds us that one of the constant laws of the universe is that life is inconsistent.

What I can share is that I have never met sunstone in any manifestation of labradorite. I have never met star labradorite in any of its forms.

The star asterism in this piece is considered pseudo-asterism. The asterism we more commonly see in rose quartz is created by the presence of tiny rutile fibers.

Creating the same, exquisite, celestial formation, bound by its own distinct root system, the rare sunstone inclusions in this piece are responsible for this extraordinary display.

The same small, hematite platelets which create sunstone’s lattice are responsible for calling the wisdom of the stars down into this rare sphere.

Everything about this wild stone feels so deeply intentional.

So many extraordinary, individual moments had to occur both independently and simultaneously for this crystal being to step forward into this moment.

This spectrolite sphere embodies its cacophony of hue. Double sided full flash dances along the surface of the sphere. while another layer of color seems to radiate out from the center of the piece.

A symphony of vivid yellowe and emerald greens, fiery sunset oranges and pinks shapeshift, butterfly wings transforming into bold teals and electric violet flash.

I can see the northern lights reflected in this piece.
