This extraordinary, rare crystal sphere alchemizes natural, dark blue apatite with rich orange calcite. Black tourmaline weaves around the brilliant gem apatite flash.

Some of the most exquisite, electric blue apatite is unearthed in Bahia, Brazil. Completely wild, untreated apatite’s bold blue hues create a striking contrast against the fiery orange calcite.

The shimmering flash creates a tangible sense of movement in this large crystal sphere.

Though this apatite calcite crystal being resonates with fire and air, the extraordinary nature of this rare crystal sphere feels like it alchemizes the sacred crossroads where all of the elements overlap.

Oceans of blue apatite float in a sea of orange fire, the flash manifesting with an ebb and flow, a push and pull which speaks to the fluidity of the piece.

This gem apatite is an expression of blue fluorapatite. A phosphate mineral, apatite’s foundation is built of the same matter which creates bone.

The density of both bone and the black schorl inclusions are written in language of the earth.

The alchemy of this stone is often marketed as blue apatite sunstone, though as I understand it these two remarkable crystal beings do not naturally occur together.

The silvery flash brought forward by the blue apatite often moves across the surface of the orange calcite, which can at times seem to mirror sunstone’s golden shimmer.

I have seen expressions of arusha sunstone coexisting with blue apatite and purple lepidolite. Radiant and unreplicated in its cacophony of hue and flash, these crystal spheres are man made conglomerates of natural stone.
