Found on sacred land in Brazil, this wild crystal being is untouched, presented exactly as it was unearthed.

Orginally mined out, these wild stones were rediscovered in Itacambira in 2022. Tara quartz moves with an embodied sense of intention, seemingly stepping forward only as it feels called to do so.

While I don’t believe these are the last we’ll see of these rare expressions, their minings are sporadic and likely finite.

Tara quartz is a rare form of blue indicolite and reibeckite tourmaline included lithium quartz known for its unique, fibrous tourmaline and silver magnesium strands.

Nightshade, or black tara, is the less common expression of this wild stone, the tourmaline manifesting in deep, almost black blue hues.

Originally marketed as a variety of blue amphibole with inclusions of olenite, repeated mineral testing has identified these rare crystal specimens as prismatic tourmaline included lithium quartz with indications of blue dumortierite.

Luminescent and distinctly one of a kind, the rutile fibers capture and reimagine the light, revealing undertones of rich, dark green tourmaline and creating movement which sings a siren’s song.

In Tibet, Tara translates to “star.” The female incantation of the Buddha and deeply connected to the goddess of the earth, blue tara quartz resonates with both land and sea.
