This wild, very rare lemurian lightning strike quartz crystal manifests with a prominent record keeper, silver rutile and a small, fully internalized manifestation quartz crystal.

Found deep in the Serra de Espinhaço mountains (home to Serra do Cabral), orographic thunderstorms create an abundance of lightning which rains down from the sky, exposing the growing crystal to an extremely high electrical charge.

Quartz is piezoelectric, the heat from our hands capable of activating the stone’s capacity to receive and store information.

Lightning’s current transfers an exceptional amount of electrical imput which speaks to the nature of the stone in ways we’re still just beginning to understand.

Following the path of the electrical charge, a prominant zig zag marking spans the length of the piece, traversing across two sides of the body.

The Serra de Espinhaço mountains in Minas Gerais are known for orographic thunderstorms which create an abundance of lightning which reaches temperatures of “30,000°C in nanoseconds,” five times hotter than the surface of the sun.

The lightning strikes the mountain tops, penetrating the rocks which house these growing Quartz crystals, exposing these unique, rare stones to a remarkable amount of energy in a very short period of time.

Because of the piezoelectric nature of Quartz, the electricity generated causes the Quartz to rapidly expand or contract, depending on whether the strike is negatively or positively charged.
