Cobaltoan Calcite is a rarer variety of Calcite. This particular variation is formed when Cobalt is present. Cobalt is responsible for the striking pink hues, which can vary from light pink to a deep, rich magenta. The higher the Cobalt concentration, the darker the color.
Cobaltoan Calcite is a heart centered crystal. Known as the “Aphrodite Stone,” it is recognized for its soft, nurturing energy.
So much of our “life’s work” asks us to sit with discomfort, to examine the parts of our life which bring us discomfort - thoughts, emotions, past experiences. Cobalt Calcite shows up to support us in a few ways.
Cobaltoan Calcite wants to be of service. This stones soothing nature has been used to soften these experiences. This stone wants to support us in softening around these feelings of discomfort, creating space for us to open up and expand our heart centers, making room for us to lean into this discomfort surrounded by love. Reminding us that we are capable of holding our self’s through the discomfort.
Cobalt Calcite also wants to support us by deepening our connections - our connections with self, with the collective, with the earth, and with that which is greater than us. Our capacity to self soothe, to self nurture, is strengthened by our ability to lean into the collective, to lean into the web that binds us to all things, and all things to us.

When our hearts are open, when we learn to life a heart forward life, we create so much space to deepen our access to our creativity, strengthen our intuition, and to feel into the reciprocity of our relationship with all things.
Dolomite is a calcium magnesium carbonate with crystals that are commonly rhombohedral or tabular, and it’s properties are similar to Calcite. Both are considered to be strongly rooted in earth energy, and both are said to support us in connecting into the present moment. When we are grounded, we create space for energy to move more freely - an open exchange between us and the earth. This exchange supports feelings of balance, physically, emotionally and energetically.

Unfortunately mining crystals is not regulated in most places, which makes ensuring stones are sourced ethically quite difficult at times.
We believe wholeheartedly that these stones have the power to foster great healing, and it is with love and reverence for Mother Earth, each other, and all things that we offer these products.
We work hard to do our due-diligence. We ask questions about the origin of the pieces, and do not purchase from mines/areas that are known for having unfair practices.
Sometimes we are at the mercy of the vendor regarding this information. See our FAQ, “Ethical Stone Information - Part II” for details regarding the steps we take before we’re comfortable listing these offerings.
Certain areas/mines have no regulations in place to protect the environment, ensure staff is age appropriate, receives fair pay, treatment & benefits & has adequate PPE. We will not purchase from these locations & we work hard to determine each piece’s origin.
When not possible, we must rely on our vendors. We’ve invested time, money & effort into building relationships & trust. We also always trust our gut - If we’re not comfortable, we will not purchase. We continue to educate ourselves & on the rare occasion we learn later that a piece was mined unethically, we will pull it.
Though ethically sourced often = higher cost, we believe strongly in these values. We strive to offer pieces accessible to all, with great love & deep gratitude.
There is a short and a less than short answer here.
Short answer - I’ve never been able to get behind the whole psychology of “charging $9.99 will look like a better deal than $10 & will increase your sales.” This feels almost dishonest for me, personally, & it’s not a practice I am comfortable with simply for the sake of it.
The less than short answer is that I have always loved whole numbers, particularly the number 0. “0” is often referred to as the void & is considered the space of nothingness. While this isn’t untrue, from nothingness comes the infinite possibility of everything. The void is the beginning of creation, the sacred pause. The end & the beginning.
The number “0” has always felt like magic in tangible form to me.
